Environmental Actions And Recycling

Emcon believes it is critically important that we not only provide quality service to our customers, but that we also contribute back to the communities around us. We strongly feel that as a large company it is our responsibility to set an example for others. Part of this responsibility includes during our part to protect the environment and create a minimal carbon footprint as part of our processes.

Currently, these are some of the things we are doing to accomplish this:

  • Maintain our current recycle rate of 80% with an eye toward increasing that number each year
  • Purchase equipment and tools with an eye on longevity reducing the need for frequent replacement
  • Participate in recycling programs available to us
  • Research additional ways to reduce our carbon footprint even further
  • Whenever possible, use energy efficient resources and equipment
  • Evaluate processes for ways to eliminate paperwork and create an electronic record or process wherever possible
  • Ensure processes work at maximum efficiency with no duplication of work
  • Foster positive relationships with those in the community
