Security And Privacy

Emcon understands that it is a big leap of faith to entrust others with your most private information. We get all manner of mail and deliveries in our facilities and our customers depend on us to use the utmost discretion and keep their information secure.

Our staff receives continuous training on safety and security. We use the latest technology and software to protect all of the data that is processed in our facilities.

PRIVATE MAILBOXES

Throughout the mail process, we keep handling to a minimum. Mail is only handled on an as needed basis. All scanning that must be done takes place in a special secure area that is only accessed by a limited number of staff who are authorized specifically for that section. Mail storage areas can only be accessed by approved personnel and are not accessible to the public.

We never release any of our clients’ information to a 3rd party unless ordered by the Court.

SCANNING

Scanning of the contents of your packages and mail is contained to special areas. Mail is removed from secure storage and taken immediately to the scanning area. Only authorized personnel have access to these areas. Mail is only handled long enough to open, scan and return to its original packaging. It is then returned to the protected mail storage area.

All scans are transmitted through your online account and can only be accessed by entering your login information.

RECEIVING AND STORAGE

Deliveries are immediately labeled and scanned upon receipt and then moved to a secure storage area to await your instructions.

SHREDDING AND RECYCLING

In order to do our part for the environment, we recycle about 80% of our waste. This includes mail that you have directed us to dispose of instead of forward to you. Because some of these items contain important personal information about you and your family, the items are shredded and the waste is then recycled.

By shredding and recycling the material, we minimize the risk of the information falling into the hands of identity thieves.

EMPLOYEES

Our employees go through a vigorous hiring process and background check. We cannot afford to gamble with the security of our customers. Our employees are required to be dependable and demonstrate the capability to keep all information regarding our clients confidential.

In addition, our employees receive ongoing training in security and privacy protocols. Secured areas are only accessible by authorized personnel and that access is kept to a minimum. The general public and visitors to our facilities do not have access to these areas.
